4th & 5th Grade Field Trips
Jamestown & Luray Caverns
Two Thrilling Field Trips: A Look Back at October
October was a month filled with adventure and learning for our students! Our 5th and 4th graders embarked on two incredible field trips that took them on journeys through time and nature.
Delving into the Depths: Luray Caverns
Our 5th graders ventured into the mesmerizing world of Luray Caverns. As they explored the vast underground network, they were captivated by the breathtaking formations that have taken millions of years to form. From the towering stalactites hanging from the ceiling to the majestic stalagmites rising from the floor, every corner of the caverns was a sight to behold.
Stepping Back in Time: Jamestown
Our 4th graders took a trip back to the 17th century at Jamestown. They immersed themselves in the history of the first permanent English settlement in North America, exploring a recreated Powhatan town, boarding colonial ships, and trying on period clothing and armor. They even got to taste traditional colonial foods, adding a sensory dimension to their historical learning experience.
These field trips provided our students with invaluable opportunities to learn outside the classroom. They not only gained knowledge but also developed a deeper appreciation for history, science, and the natural world.
